Richard Osborne with Gramophone slathers globs of praise on this production (August 2014 at page 93) and says it's the best video of this opera ever. This was when he was comparing the Decca DVD to the competition, all in DVD. Osborne didn't say a word about the qualities of our Blu-ray version of subject title. There’s a rumor going around that Gramophone reviewers are too poor to buy HD TVs, which may explain why Osborne didn’t see the Blu-ray. Update: this Decca title is probably very funny, but it got stiff competition a year later in 2015 when the Met version came out.
